ABOUT US
ST PETE STRENGTH CENTER IS DEDICATED TO BUILDING A HEALTHIER COMMUNITY THROUGH PERSONAL FITNESS.
OUR GYM
St. Pete Strength Center was built on a passion for fitness, community, and creating a space where people can train with purpose. Our story began in 2015 when founder Chris Werner started hosting free monthly community workouts at North Shore Park. As these sessions grew, so did his dedication to helping others move better and feel stronger—continuing through challenges like COVID-19 and beyond.
Chris’s journey led him to become the manager, then part-owner, of the Anytime Fitness at Central Ave and 9th St, where he spent eight years refining his approach to training and community-building. The next natural step? Creating his own gym—one that prioritizes focused training, a strong community, and an exclusive atmosphere. That vision became St. Pete Strength Center.
Beyond the gym walls, we stay connected with the local fitness community. Our “The Yard” workouts—held every second Saturday at local venues—keep the spirit of those original park workouts alive. We’re also proud to host the annual Raptor Run 5k, a sell-out event since 2015 that supports animal education at Boyd Hill Nature Preserve.
Inside our gym, you’ll find top-tier strength training equipment and a limited membership model designed to give each member the space, attention, and experience they deserve. No overcrowding, no waiting—just the freedom to train effectively.
Our coaching team has worked with thousands of clients, from beginners to competitive athletes to those recovering from injuries. No matter your goal, we’re here to guide and support you every step of the way.
Welcome to St. Pete Strength Center—where training is personal, and community is everything.
Real Coaches. Real Results
Using our combined knowledge we can get you back to feeling strong, pain-free, and motivated to reach any fitness goal. Our approach is to structure a plan, implement it with our clients, and then educate them to take ownership of their training protocols. These are our head trainers, we also have female trainers available!

Frequently Asked Questions
How is SPSC different from other gyms?
SPSC is meant to be a comprehensive but intimate space. A space where you can get away from the crowds of big box gyms and get to know other health focused people in your community. Our gym is perfect for your knowledgeable gym goer, as well as those who are new to training. We offer monthly memberships for open gym, personal training to provide fitness guidance, and physical therapy for to get you back to doing the things you love.
Why would I need a personal trainer?
Personal trainers are a great way to get started with weightlifting or to level up your training. Trainers can write effective workout programming, show you proper lifting technique, hold you accountable to your lifestyle commitments, and dial you in on nuanced aspects of your health and fitness.
How much does a personal trainer costs?
Personal trainers typically set their own rates, so prices may vary. However, a good ballpark figure is $60–$80 per session. Many trainers offer flexible pricing based on the number of sessions you commit to upfront. This is something you can discuss during your initial consultation.
Where are you located and where do I park?
We are located at 655 31st St S Studio 4 across from Beech Kombucha. There is a long line of parking spots along the side of the building if you enter the lot from 31st St. There’s another parking lot right outside our space accessible from 32nd St.
How do I become a member?
Memberships are on limited supply. We want to keep the gym traffic low so you can get your best workouts in. You can sign up for a 1 day, 3 day, 7 day, or monthly membership pass on our website! Once purchased we will email you with your instructions to gain access to the gym 7 days a week from 5am-11pm.
Is your gym open for workshops and other educational opportunities?
Yes! Our facility has some weekday and weekend hours where the space can be rented. This could be used to create fitness content, teach a class, or just do a VIP workout with friends. Reach out to us with questions. We are open to ideas.
